CARDIO Workout definition: 

In a Laymen Terms, Cardio means any exercise that raises your heart rate.

When you work out at a high intensity the blood starts to pump a lot harder and that challenges the elasticity of the arterial wall.

A stronger cardio-vascular system means more capillaries delivering more oxygen to cells in your muscles. This enables your cells to burn more fat during both exercise and inactivity.             

Some of the Common form of cardio exercises are stated below:

  • Elliptical Walking (on tread mill )
  • Running 
  • High Intensity Interval (HIIT) Training
  • Bike Riding or Cycling

 WEIGHT/STRENGTH/RESISTANCE Training definition:

In a Laymen Language, Weight Training means any physical training that involves lifting weights. This training increases muscle strength by making your muscles work against a weight or force.

Different forms of resistance training include using free weightsweight machines, resistance bands and your own body weight. A beginner needs to train two or three times per week to gain the maximum benefit.

Yes, cardio is the best option for true weight loss.But strength training builds muscle which might also help you to tone up and slim down in a different way.

Thus, the ideal exercise program for improving body composition and health includes cardio and weights.
